A Hero's Legacy Reimagined in
a Collectible Form
The Spider-Verse film franchise has been a huge influence towards me and my style with its mix of bold designs, dynamic compositions, and unique art styles. As a fan of the series - I wanted to create a series of decorative character cards paying tribute to Miles Morales and the various spider variants. The aim was to highlight each character's unique appearance and personality by adapting my style to reflect their background and unique traits. The challenge? Balancing the individuality of each character whilst ensuring a cohesive look across the entire project.
Our goal was to blend comic-book aesthetics with a modern, clean, and dynamic design that suited the film series. Drawing inspiration from the comics, we incorporated the use of Kirby dots, panels, and half-tone shading as a subtle nod to its comic origin. The final outcome showcases bold typography, energetic design elements, and custom iconography that highlights each character's shared or unique traits. Paired with an adaptable layout template, this system makes it easy to continue the series with additional characters from the franchise.
